Safety Considerations
General safety considerations for using the 1.5 kV Isolated Power Supply Unit device.
Important: This device is capable of generating potentially hazardous output voltage levels of up to ±1.5 kV. Access
to the device must be strictly restricted to trained and authorized personnel. Due to the risk of electrical shock, the device
shall only be operated under controlled laboratory conditions. If interaction with the device's outputs or a DUT connected to
the device is necessary while the device is powered on, protective gloves rated for a minimum of 1.5 kV must be used.
The output current is internally limited to 10 mA ±10% as a safety measure. This limitation is not intended to function as the primary protection against electric shock. Users must adhere to all relevant safety standards and procedures to ensure isolation from direct or indirect human contact with high-voltage outputs.
Before turning on the device, make sure:
- The Mains voltage is correct (There are 2 versions of the power supply, for 120 V and for 230 V mains voltage, frequency can be either 50 Hz or 60 Hz in both cases). The operating mains voltage is printed on the back panel of the device.
- The protective earth connection is uninterrupted, and the mains outlet is fused.
It is imperative to use only banana plug cables rated for a minimum of 1500 V when connecting to the output terminals.
