Solve the home energy management challenge via OpenADR in UEGOS hackathon
What?
Use Python to develop an energy solution that controls smart loads and energy resource in a smart house to minimize the cost of energy and also help balance the grid: control an EV charger, air-conditioner, home appliances, etc. based on OpenADR price signals and have a chance of your solution being included in Typhoon HIL’s UEGOS (Universal Energy Gateway Operating System) after launch

The hackathon is primarily aimed at Serbian undergraduate students of software development or energy systems, but there are no limits to who can take part: every enthusiast willing to put his mind and creativity to a challenge of home energy optimization is more than welcome! We hope that the interesting topic of the challenge and team work will enable hackathon participants to show what they are really capable of.
Where?
At your home, in a group of a maximum of three (3): you will download the hackathon code and hear a detailed online presentation of the hackathon task, and you will also have a Discord chat and mentoring at 4-hour intervals
When?
December 3 and 4, 2022.
What are the prizes?
For all members of the team, up to 3 pieces for a team: The first prize will be a Nintendo Switch bundle for each member of the team with additional valuable prizes for other higher-ranking teams (e.g. gadgets, development kits, etc.), as well as a chance of your solution being included in UEGOS as a commercial plugin for which you can get paid per download (upon its launch in 2023).

U programskom jeziku Python razvijte energetsko rešenje koje kontroliše pametne potrošače i energetske resurse u pametnoj kući, kako biste minimizirali troškove energije i takođe pomogli u balansiranju mreže: kontrolišite punjač za električni automobil, klima uređaj, kućne aparate, itd. na osnovu signala za cenu energije preko OpenADR protokola. Hakaton je prvenstveno namenjen studentima osnovnih studija softverskog inženjeringa ili energetike, ali nema ograničenja ko može da učestvuje: svaki entuzijasta koji je spreman da „protegne” vijuge i kreativnost kako bi rešio izazov optimizacije kućne energije je više nego dobrodošao! Nadamo se da će zanimljiva tema izazova i timski rad omogućiti učesnicima hakatona da pokažu za šta su zaista sposobni.
Gde i kako?
Kod kuće, u grupi od najviše tri (3) učesnika. Preuzećete kod za hakaton i čuti detaljnu onlajn prezentaciju zadatka, a imaćete i kanal na platformi Discord za ćaskanje i mentorstvo u intervalima od 4 sata.

3. i 4. decembra 2022. godine.
Koje su nagrade (za sve članove tima, do 3 komada za tim)?
Prva nagrada će biti Nintendo Switch paket za svakog člana tima sa dodatnim vrednim nagradama za ostale visokoplasirane timove (npr. gadžeti, razvojni kompleti, itd.), kao i mogućnost da vaše rešenje bude uključeno u UEGOS kao komercijalni dodatak za koji možete da budete plaćeni po svakom preuzimanju (kada UEGOS bude lansiran tokom 2023. godine).
