The 2022.1 software release includes a high fidelity battery cell model which is suitable for battery management system (BMS) testing, cell monitoring, and module balancing testing. It is a state-of-the-art electrical representation of the physical processes inside the battery cell through empirical and experimental data.

The new battery cell component has flexible parametrization and simulation requirements with increased model coverage including stage of charge, state of health, open circuit voltage, available capacity, internal resistance, Transient V-I response, OCV hysteresis, self-discharge and thermal losses.
