H2020 PANDA PROJECT OVERVIEW
The PANDA project provided a unique, unified organization of digital models that seamlessly integrated virtual and real testing of all types of electrified vehicles and their components. The project implemented a modular simulation philosophy, utilizing the Energetic Macroscopic Representation (EMR) framework, which allowed development partners to easily share component models in either open or black-box forms and integrate them in a single, real-time co-simulation between the cloud-based SIEMENS AMESim (SIEMENS) and a Typhoon HIL testbed. This approach was estimated to reduce the electric vehicle development time by 20%, and significantly streamline the process of integrating models for real-time, hardware-in-the-loop tests.
